Built in the 1980’s, Vele Rumana was the first grand multi storey commercial building in Lae. Since construction, the building had suffered ad-hoc from maintenance and fallen into poor state of repair.
Green Leaf Engineers were selected as the building services engineers for consultants due to our broad experience in commercial refurbishments and engineering for tropical pacific conditions.
GLE developed dilapidation report detailing the pre-existing building services infrastructure across all six levels and the basement. With a thorough understanding of the site, we produced a fully co-ordinated services scheme that made good use of existing infrastructure where possible. The re-engineered fit-out ensures the building complies with current building codes and incorporates efficient mechanical cooling, lighting design, gen set, hydraulics and fire systems.
