Green Leaf Engineers and JCA were successful in being awarded the design and documentation of the proposed new Australian High Commission in Nairobi, Kenya. The project included a number of tenancies to be based in a standalone facility on a Greenfield site. The project is currently on hold until further direction.
However, the project reached the completion of the FDB with minor design development required to reach PWC. The works completed within this time provided the design team with further knowledge and understanding of DFAT’s expectations in new Chancery projects and a number of the key considerations in relation to security, design aesthetic and the need to ensure the facility reflects and captures the relationship Australia has with their host country.
This recent and relevant knowledge will assist in the initial design discussions and simplifying the early concept design process.
