East Jindabyne is the site for the redevelopment of an existing motel into a much larger 5-Star eco-resort comprising of a central hotel, lodges, holiday homes and permanent residences.
The client, an Australian world cup skier, desired the redevelopment to have the smallest energy foot print possible. Our team have been working closely with Brisbane based Haysom Architects to deliver lodges that are earth-massed, with fresh air being facilitated via solar chimneys and all heating and power within each lodge provided a micro CHP unit.
The redevelopment is more than double the GFA of its predecessor and yet the utility connections to the statutory supply are less than the original connection – a testament of how low we can go!
