East Jindabyne is the site for the redevelopment of an existing motel into a much larger 5 star resort comprising of a central hotel, lodges, holiday homes and permanent residences.
The client, an Australian world cup skier, requires the redevelopment to be the smallest energy foot print possible. Our team have been working closely with Brisbane based architect Haysom Architects to deliver lodges that are earth massed, fresh air is being provided via solar chimneys and all heating and power within each lodge is provided a micro CHP unit.
The redevelopment is more than double the GFA of its predecessor and yet the utility connections to the statutory supply are less than the original connection – a testament to GLE's style of efficient engineering.
