Earth Day, celebrated April 22, is a day designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's environment.

Earth Day is a great opportunity for everyone to get up out of their chairs and join over 1 billion people around the world in making our magnificent planet a greener, environmentally friendlier place to live.

Here’s what Green Leaf Engineers are doing today to contribute to the global green effort on Earth Day 2009.
• Organizing a dedicated paper recycling bin system for our brand-spanking new office.
• All staff are hitting the streets for 10 minutes to pick up litter around Fortitude Valley & New Farm in Brisbane.

Here’s some creative Earth Day initiatives being done overseas...perhaps some thoughts for next year!

April 20, 2009--Seen from the sky, a colourful sand sculpture on Islamorada in the Florida Keys encourages people to "Embrace the Earth" as part of Earth Day activities in April 2009. Local businesses each donated U.S. $250 to sponsor a letter. Proceeds supported conservation of rare marine turtles.
